I don’t wanna hear about feminism in games anymore!

All I gotta say is I don’t want to hear women bitch about feminism in gaming anymore after what happened with Skull Girls last night. I realized why I’m so frustrated toward the game and Beowulf winning…

You see women go bitching about things needing to be censored left and right in games and how women need to be depicted as stronger and more independent in video games. Then do nothing to try actually changing things to way they like, and are more interested in pointlessly censoring already existing games and bitching.

I realized this last night. Skull Girls was an all female cast with strong and likable female characters with a wide variety of body types too! so that any type of woman could find someone they could relate to.
But Now, because none of the whiny feminist spoke up or supported this great idea there are two obnoxious, stereotypical , and boring male characters that got added to the game and let me tell you I honestly don’t care I really don’t. BUT if you look at if from the perspective of feminism in gaming adding those male characters in completely changed the direction of the game, and nullified the entire potential to it being a perfect flagship for “Feminism in gaming”.

Let me reiterate. The title to the game is SkullGIRLS, and the lore is all based on women having to be strong willed and pure of heart so they can gain the power of the Skullheart and make their wishes come true. But now that men are added into it, the whole thing really has been muddied badly.

And while there are games out there with all an female cast, such as “Arcana Hearts”, it doesn’t take very long to figure out that the game was targeted towards men. All the girls are overly cute and very sexualized (And personally, I don’t mind this, but then again I’m not a feminist, but I am a girl.) But Skullgirls wasn’t like this!  Before the men were added to the game, there was a wide variety of different girls fighting for power and they were all designed brilliantly and creatively. Accentuating features that were NOT just cleavage and hips. Adding the men to this particular game just did what a lot of feminist bitch about and preach against. It gave the girls male assistance that they didn’t need, almost making it seem as if they needed that male help to gain the skullheart or even defeat it! And even if that point is arguable, one thing that is in no way shape or form arguable, is the fact that adding in men muddied the theme and design aesthetic that was a crown jewel for feminism in gaming to begin with.

Just read the story synopsis for yourself.

http://skullgirls.wikia.com/wiki/Story

First two paragraphs sums up the game. And from that description in no way implied or in any possible conceivable way inferred that men could be even inclusive in this struggle!

I know a lot of you are gonna say “No it doesn’t you stupid its just adding men to the cast whats wrong with that?!” Well that’s the exact mentality that has  kept legitimate feminism in games from working. When you think like that, then the only people able to bitch about feminism in games are the annoying people that are too preoccupied with censoring already existing games to create anything meaningful themselves. And those people are the feminist. You people have no one to blame for these issues but yourselves at this point.

So yeah, I don’t want to hear it from anyone preaching feminism in games anymore. Because you know what, you don’t honestly care about most media that you look to bitch about and censor and frankly, you’re not gonna do anything to help improve it either, other than whine, bitch, and cry for more censorship.

Why Woman Can’t Be Gamers.

Because of the sexist pigs on the internet who think all girls (like myself) if they are to be a “gamer” or play video games have to like Call of Duty and chew on their controllers and have horrible grammer, otherwise they are just a guy portending to be a girl.

Now I’m going to take a second here to tell you, if you think that then your a fucking idiot!

I’m not a feminist in ANY way but what pisses me off more than anything is being targeted when I’m playing a game (mainly MMO’s) and being told I’m not stupid enough to be a girl. WTF! So you have to be stupid to be a girl playing a video game and then put up with bullshit like being told “Shut up and make me a sandwich?”

You know what that is? That elitism bullshit! Oh so you think you better because you have a dick? Well I’m so sorry but I’m going to have to break it to you this way. You thinking like that is why you don’t have a girl friend are living at 30 with your mother and don’t have a job. Oh wait but I can’t think like that can I? Because then I would be just the same as you sexist fuckers out there that make it IMPOSSIBLE for girls to enjoy playing game.

No. I don’t like being told I have a dick when I of so clearly have a vagina when I look down and to breast.
No. I don’t like being grouped in with a bunch of disgusting un bathed men.
No. I don’t like being told that if I am a girl I should just shut up and fuck your sexist ass.

If you think like this, then you should get your facts straightened out, and get the fuck out of your house and meet some girl for once in your life.

IT’S FINALLY DONE!

The Prize Image to our Deviantart 5K Kiriban winner,

http://golden-grahams.deviantart.com/

He chose to have us draw an image of his two friend’s characters, Rime, and Amethyst. He wanted me to put a spin on things, by drawing them in Phantasy Star Online 2 inspired gear since they are both really excited for it’s release.

This image challenged me in many ways, and took a lot longer than I planned for it to. First off, the Detail was very very hard to replicate properly. As such, this drawing required me to change up the way I do line-arts. So my lineart took longer and was a lot thinner than normal. The hair was another thing that I decided to play around with, I have decided to improve the way that I paint hair on my characters, and this image was the pilot for my new style. I do hope to continue improving the way I shade hair.

Overall, I enjoyed drawing this. Rime and Amethyst are two really cute girls, and were a pleasure to draw.

The background was the product of some quick photoshop magic, using this stock image [link] as a base.

Thank you all for being so patient! I will now move on to the next commission that I have lined up.

I actually finished this drawing a week or so ago, I just forgot that I recorded part of myself creating it! ^^; Anyways, sorry also that I didn’t record myself painting the background. Next time I will be sure to show my entire process.

For those of you that don’t know, this is a sped up video of inking and painting a piece of Final Fantasy XI fanart that I did of a Mithra. The whole thing took around 4 hours. So if nothing else! Sit back and enjoy the music! It’s an awesome FFXI remix by the amazing DJ Plaeskool. The song is called “The Empress’s Secret”. It’s a remix of the song that plays in the main city in the Treasures of Aht Urgan Expansion pack.

Enjoy everyone!
