The other day I was thinking about something Bryan had said about how sexualization isn't inherently bad. I think I might have thought of a way to distinguish the meanings of sexualization. What the two of you do in your artwork will continue being known as sexualization and abuse of that idea will be referred to as hyper sexualization, because that is what it is. Going overboard with a normally good thing to the point of making it perverse.

It’s kind of a really grey territory. How do we define something as hyper sexualization or just regular sexualization? Where exactly is the line between the two? For that matter, when is something positive sexualization and at what point does it becomes “Abuse” of sexualization?

The sad thing is that there really isn’t an answer to that. It honestly all depends on the person, their intentions, and each situation on a case by case basis. I think that’s really the best way to handle things, is to look at them case by case. But I do feel you are right, in the way that too much of anything can be bad. It’s just laying down those definitions is next to impossible! DX
